Our celebration will take place outdoors on a fall afternoon/evening at a charming mountain lodge in Logan Canyon. Think dresses with boots or sandals, your coolest (Kuhl-est) pants, and a warm jacket for after sunset. Think glitzy granola, bespoke boho, and eclectic earth-lover—finding the balance of style and comfort is key. We'll have a bonfire going both nights, so the smell of campfire may follow you home after the weekend is over. Average temps for this time of year are highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s. Please choose flat shoes or low, comfortable footwear, as guests will be walking on grass, gravel, and other outdoor surfaces. Heels if you dare, but we recommend a wide heel if you do. Fall layers are encouraged, as mountain weather can shift from warm to cool as the sun goes down. Jackets, wraps, or light coats are welcome and practical.

Transportation

Salt Lake City International Airport is the closest major airport to Logan. Located 1.5 hours south of Logan and 2 hours from Beaver Creek Lodge.

Flights

Logan is a 1.5 hour drive from Salt Lake City and the wedding venue is another 40 minute drive from Logan. The easiest way to get there is by car. There are also shuttles and buses from the airport to Logan if car travel is not possible. If you get lucky, you might find an Uber driver willing to drive you to Logan.

Garden City, home of Bear Lake, is a vacation destination for many Utah and Idaho locals. Garden City is a 20 minute drive from the wedding venue and has many options for AirBnbs and small hotels.

Logan is Sarah and Malek's home. Logan is a small city, approximately a 40 minute drive from the wedding venue. Logan has many options for AirBnb's and hotels.

We have reserved Beaver Creek Lodge and surrounding property from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning. Camping will be available on the property for friends and family who prefer sleeping under the stars. RV camping is available in the parking lot of Beaver Creek Lodge. There are no hookups, so generators are needed. Please let Sarah know if you plan to bring an RV. Sarah can be reached at (925) 818-5510.

There are a limited number of rooms at the lodge that will be available for immediate family. Sarah or Malek will be reaching out to family to coordinate.

The Eagles Roost is a large vacation home located on the same property as Eagle Creek Lodge. We have reserved this space for additional lodging. Rooms in the Eagles Roost will be prioritized for family and any additional rooms will be offered to friends. Sarah and Malek will be reaching out to coordinate with family. If you are a friend who would prefer to stay in the Eagle's Roost, please let Sarah or Malek know.

Travel

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Logan canyon by horseback. We went on a trail ride with Logan Canyon Horseback Riding on our 2nd anniversary and we had a great time!

Bear Lake is a large lake that spans across the border of Utah and Idaho. September may be cold for swimming, but boat, kayak, and paddle board rentals are available in Garden City.

Fall Foliage/Scenic Mountain Drive or Hike

The vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows in and around Salt Lake in late September are spectacular. Head to the canyons nearby—Big Cottonwood, Little Cottonwood, or Millcreek—for a scenic drive or hike. Or venture a little further--about an hour’s drive away--to Park City and take a breathtaking drive though Guardsman’s Pass and return for a walk and lunch in historic, old town Park City.

If you happen to be in Salt Lake City on a Thursday evening, you can attend the weekly rehearsal of the world-famous The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. Rehearsals are free and open to the public.
